Valutazione delle prestazioni di un sistema di filtrazione multistadio (FiME) su scala pilota per il trattamento dell’acqua grezza prelevata dalla sorgente superficiale che alimenta la città di Goianápolis/GO. L’impianto utilizzato in questa ricerca consisteva in 1 prefiltro dinamico (PFD), 1 prefiltro ascendente (PFA) e 2 filtri lenti, uno con sabbia (FLA) e l’altro con sabbia e carbone attivo granulare (FLACAG). I risultati ottenuti suggeriscono che il sistema FiME è efficiente nel trattamento di acque superficiali con alti livelli di coliformi totali e termotolleranti e con picchi di colore e torbidità, producendo, in caso di funzionamento corretto, acqua con bassi livelli di colore, torbidità e batteri coliformi, soddisfacendo le raccomandazioni dell’Ordinanza 518/2004 del Ministero della Salute, dimostrando la fattibilità dell’applicazione di questa tecnologia nella produzione di acqua per il consumo umano.
