Le manioc (Manihot esculenta Crantz) est une plante à haut rendement au Brésil. Sa transformation génère une grande quantité de sous-produit fibreux humide dont l’élimination pose problème. Ce sous-produit, connu dans l’agro-industrie sous le nom de bagasse ou pâte, présente une teneur élevée en amidon et en fibres. L’objectif de cette étude était donc d’extraire, de caractériser et de modifier chimiquement la fibre de la bagasse de manioc (FBM), de l’utiliser pour obtenir des composites, ainsi que pour obtenir de la cellulose nanocristalline.
