Nel presente studio ho esaminato l’influenza delle esigenze familiari sul disimpegno professionale sulla base di 92 coppie di dipendenti e superiori. Per chiarire meglio questa correlazione, nell’analisi del percorso sono stati integrati tre mediatori: il conflitto famiglia-lavoro, l’autoefficacia professionale e l’anticipazione del successo professionale da parte del superiore. Il conflitto famiglia-lavoro e l’anticipazione del successo professionale da parte del superiore sono significativamente correlati all’autoefficacia professionale. Inoltre, l’anticipazione del successo professionale da parte del superiore influenza il disimpegno professionale del dipendente. I risultati hanno anche evidenziato differenze di genere nel conflitto tra famiglia e carriera. Inoltre, i risultati mostrano che il superiore svolge un ruolo significativo nell’interazione tra famiglia e carriera. Di conseguenza, i superiori sono chiamati a sostenere i propri collaboratori nel conflitto di ruoli, poiché il conflitto tra famiglia e lavoro può avere un impatto negativo sulla carriera.
