Environmental education is a continuous and ongoing process in formal or informal settings, which aims to achieve socio-environmental balance between humans and the environment. This topic gained prominence in the 1970s due to the progressive depletion of natural resources to satisfy the lifestyles of capitalist society. In view of this, the idea of sustainable development also emerged as a societal standard that advocates environmental conservation in order to ensure balance between humans and nature, as well as to ensure that future generations can use the available natural resources. Thus, this collection comprises 13 articles, divided into two sections: Environmental Education x Sustainable Practices; Environmental Studies and Nuances of Sustainability. The manuscripts are authored by 15 researchers trained in different areas, so that the ideas presented here can establish different approaches to the central theme: Environmental Education and Sustainability.
