Das Instrument zur Bewertung der Ernährungsunsicherheit wurde entwickelt, um die Ernährungsunsicherheit in Indonesien zu verdeutlichen. Vier Indikatoren, die die vier Dimensionen der Ernährungsunsicherheit repräsentieren, wurden ausgewählt, um die chronische Ernährungsunsicherheit in jeder Provinz zu beschreiben. Das Instrument zur Bewertung der Ernährungsunsicherheit enthält Daten für 32 indonesische Provinzen. Durch die Verwendung des Instruments zur Bewertung der Ernährungsunsicherheit können Menschen die Komplexität der Ernährungsunsicherheit besser verstehen. Die Analyse der vier Dimensionen der Ernährungsunsicherheit würde das notwendige Verständnis für ihre Ursachen vermitteln und somit dazu beitragen, bessere Pläne und geeignete Programme zu entwickeln. Das Instrument zur Bewertung der Ernährungsunsicherheit ist auch nützlich, um eine Provinz mit einer anderen zu vergleichen oder um die durchschnittliche Ernährungsunsicherheit für Indonesien insgesamt zu ermitteln.
