Badanie to zostało przeprowadzone w pobliżu obszaru wiejskiego gminy Rio Preto da Eva w stanie Amazonas, w regionie obejmującym formację leśną terra firma, położoną 105 km na północny wschód od Manaus i dostępną za pośrednictwem autostrady AM-010. Badany obszar ma powierzchnię około 220 km2 i charakteryzuje się czynnikami, które przyczyniają się do procesu fragmentacji siedlisk, wyróżniając regiony, które nie są już w bezpośrednim związku z ciągłym lasem.
