Os objectivos foram determinar a produtividade física (PFA), económica (PEA) e social (PES), bem como a eficiência física (EFA), económica (EEA) e social (ESA) da água utilizada na produção de noz-pecã (Carya illinoensis) e contrastá-la com a maçã (Malus domestica) no estado de Chihuahua em 2019, ambas as culturas produzidas em condições de uso médio de tecnologia (MT). Foram utilizados modelos de produtividade e eficiência hídrica no sector agrícola, alimentando estes modelos com dados de produção a nível comercial do SIAP. Os resultados indicam que a PFA, PEA e PSA foram (sempre MT noz vs MT maçã): 0,15 e 2,28 kg m-3, USD 126.897 e USD 619.570 de ganho por hm3 e 9 e 23 postos de trabalho por hm3, enquanto a EFA, EEA e ESA foram: 6.603 e 438 litros kg-1, 7,88 e 1,61 m3 de água utilizada por USD de ganho e 113.143 e 42.562 m3 de água utilizada por posto de trabalho. Os indicadores mostram que, em termos físicos, económicos e sociais, a utilização da água na produção é menos produtiva (logo, menos eficiente) na nogueira.
