Die Autorin zieht geographische, philosophische und soziologische Perspektiven heran und zeigt, dass mediale Landschaftskonstrukte teils auffällig bearbeitet und selektiert werden. Darüber hinaus unterscheiden sie sich auch deutlich von vorgefundenen Landschaftskonstrukten. Da mediale Darstellungen auch eine sozialisierende Funktion einnehmen, können diese Bilder zu einem Akzeptanzproblem in Bezug auf beispielsweise neue Energielandschaften führen.
