Foi efectuado o rastreio de 14 genótipos dos acessos rastreados, tendo um deles registado uma população de pulgões de 71,33 pulgões/5 cm de galho com AII 0,80. Este genótipo SSF-17-04 foi classificado como altamente resistente ao pulgão do cártamo. Dez acessos de germoplasma registaram uma população de pulgões de 91,01-116,11 pulgões/5 cm no comprimento do rebento apical e AII variando de 1,46 a 1,73. Os tratamentos com duas pulverizações foliares de espinetoram11.70 SC e duas pulverizações foliares de ciantraniliprole 10.26 OD foram os tratamentos mais promissores que foram encontrados a par um do outro, respetivamente. Os próximos melhores tratamentos em ordem de eficácia foram o tratamento de sementes com tiametoxam 30 FS e uma pulverização foliar de espinetoram11.70 SC e o tratamento de sementes com tiametoxam 30 FS e uma pulverização foliar de ciantraniliprole 10.26 OD. A produção mínima de sementes foi registada num controlo não tratado. Visitação de vários polinizadores em diferentes horas do dia no cártamo (abelhas/m2/2hrs). A intensidade de todas as espécies de abelhas melíferas aumenta gradualmente e atinge o seu pico entre as 10.00 e as 12.00 horas, diminuindo depois lentamente. visitação de vários polinizadores na cultura do cártamo.
