The present research project focuses on the need to design a program that adjusts to the particularities of a student with Trisomy 21 and Mild Intellectual Disability, recognizing her abilities and obstacles in the school environment. It is based on models of human development, learning theories and inclusive psycho-pedagogical approaches articulated with psycho-pedagogical programs that guarantee the effectiveness and appropriateness of the current approach. In practical terms, the program aims to offer concrete tools and strategies to educators, psycho-pedagogues and families to facilitate the educational process and inclusion of the student. Emphasis will be placed on the student’s individual abilities, fostering her self-esteem and motivation as essential elements for her academic progress. In addition, we will seek to provide psycho-pedagogical support to the main people involved in the educational process, in order to offer a comprehensive pedagogical attention adjusted to the specific needs of the student.
