El presente documento corresponde a una tesis doctoral desarrollada desde el programa de Doctorado en Educación de la Universidad Benito Juárez G. de México. El objetivo de la investigación es analizar qué características teóricas, pedagógicas y conceptuales del modelo de educación experiencial pueden contribuir a la calidad educativa en el ciclo II (3°, 4° y 5°) de básica primaria de la Agrupación Rural OHACA (Bogotá DC), desde el escenario de los procesos pedagógicos desarrollados en área de educación física. La metodología se inscribe en un enfoque cualitativo de corte hermenéutico con elementos del paradigma socio crítico. El método de la Investigación Acción en Educación posibilita un diseño no experimental y un alcance descriptivo. La fundamentación de la propuesta se da a partir del desarrollo teórico de seis categorías conceptuales, a saber: educación experiencial, básica primaria, educación rural, educación física, calidad educativa y competencias transversales.
