Esta investigação teve como objetivo investigar as concentrações de dois metais pesados, o chumbo e o cádmio, na água do rio Zayandehroud, rodeado pelas explorações de arroz de Zarinshahr. A água foi amostrada a uma profundidade de 30 cm durante os meses de junho, julho e agosto de 2015, ou seja, no processo de plantação, crescimento e após a colheita, em três estações situadas a 20 m antes das explorações, ao lado das explorações e a 100 m após as explorações, respetivamente. Foram recolhidas três amostras de água e uma amostra de truta (Salmo trutta) em cada mês e a quantidade de chumbo e cádmio foi medida nos rins, fígado e brânquias da truta.
