Das Ziel dieser Forschung war es, die Haltbarkeit von Mangos durch den Einsatz von Gammastrahlung aus einer Co-60-Quelle zu verlängern und dabei die Nährstoffzusammensetzung der Mangos zu erhalten. Mangos der Sorte Sindhri wurden auf dem Großhandelsmarkt von Lahore gekauft, um die Auswirkungen von Gammastrahlung auf Mangos zu untersuchen. Die Mangos wurden bei PARAS Lahore bestrahlt. Die für die Gammastrahlung verwendeten Dosen betrugen 0,5 kGy, 1 kGy und 1,5 kGy, um den Feuchtigkeits-, Fett-, Kohlenhydrat-, Protein-, Asche- und Ballaststoffgehalt der Mangos zu überprüfen. Die Ergebnisse zeigten einen positiven Effekt auf die Exportrate von Mangos aus Pakistan und einen minimalen Verlust an Nährwerten. Es wird geschlossen, dass die optimierte Dosis für Mangos 0,5 kGy beträgt.
