Dieses Buch präsentiert die Arbeit zur Untersuchung der Extraktion und Analyse von Schwermetallen in Obst und Gemüse mittels ICP-MS. In der vorliegenden Studie wurden die Konzentrationen von neun verschiedenen Schwermetallen in Obst- und Gemüseproben wie Trauben, Granatäpfeln, Bananen, Guaven, Spinat und Zwiebeln bestimmt, die frisch in der Region Pune geerntet wurden. Die Schwermetalle wurden aus Obst und Gemüse mittels Mikrowellenaufschluss extrahiert und die Schwermetallkonzentrationen mittels induktiv gekoppelter Plasma-Massenspektrometrie (ICP-MS) analysiert. Die in den Proben nachgewiesenen Konzentrationen von As, Cd, Fe, Ni, Pb, Zn, Cr, Cu und Hg lagen mit Ausnahme von Spinat (Cu 5,10) und Bananen (Pb 0,26, As 1,5) unter den von der FSSAI und der WHO gemeinsam empfohlenen Grenzwerten.
