Mozambique is a country that recently gained independence from Portuguese colonialism (1975). Since then, many challenges have placed the country in the spotlight. One of these is the need for qualified personnel capable of meeting its priorities. The book is an attempt to stimulate debate on ideas, educational policies and management processes so that students, teachers, managers and academics can understand Mozambique’s historical and political trajectory in the development of education. Therefore, it should be seen as an incessant academic quest to improve the political-pedagogical and democratic administration of education in line with global guidelines, translated into the material basis of the New Global Agenda, which is more structured and promotes the organisation and production of an inclusive and flexible education system. In fact, as the author of the book, we draw on this professional vision as a public official and, simultaneously, an academic, seeking to expand the established limits of school administrators’ practices, based on national horizons (laws), evaluating trends in educational policies and the organisation of schools in state agreements and within the scope of global guidelines.
