L’acquacoltura è lo sviluppo di organismi acquatici in condizioni controllate o semi-controllate, il che la rende una delle migliori opzioni economiche per ottenere proteine animali. Nell’ultimo decennio si è assistito a uno sviluppo dell’acquacoltura in tutto il mondo, anche se con particolare attenzione ai Paesi in via di sviluppo, in quanto ha il potenziale di produrre più pesce a costi inferiori, coprendo la domanda che sarà presentata dall’esplosione demografica senza intaccare l’ecologia e producendo alimenti sicuri e di alta qualità con un eccellente profilo nutrizionale. Nel presente studio sono stati condotti diversi esperimenti per valutare l’effetto della bagassa di mela fermentata e l’uso di un additivo a base di lievito nella dieta dei pesci tilapia (Oreochromis niloticus) durante la fase di crescita. Sia la bagassa fermentata che l’additivo a base di lievito sono stati preparati mediante processi di fermentazione aerobica.
