Este trabalho de investigação subjectiva investiga os efeitos adversos da elevada rotatividade dos trabalhadores do conhecimento sobre o desempenho financeiro da carteira de projectos, especialmente nas empresas e organizações. A elevada rotatividade dos trabalhadores do conhecimento significa a quantidade de trabalhadores que abandonam uma carreira ou uma organização. Com o reconhecimento da elevada rotatividade dos trabalhadores do conhecimento, as empresas de projectos estão a tentar desenvolver estratégias de retenção para reter os trabalhadores altamente qualificados que acabarão por afetar as decisões financeiras e o desempenho das carteiras de projectos. Com a ajuda da análise estatística, o primeiro e principal objetivo da investigação subjectiva é estimar os efeitos adversos da elevada rotatividade dos trabalhadores altamente qualificados no desempenho financeiro da carteira de projectos. Avaliar os efeitos adversos da rotatividade dos trabalhadores é uma prática comum entre muitos investigadores, mas cada perito tem a sua própria variável específica sobre a qual conduziu o seu trabalho de investigação, como custos, decisões financeiras, eficiência e diversidade de projectos. No entanto, neste livro, avaliámos todas as variáveis. Para o efeito, compreendemos a relação entre a retenção dos trabalhadores e o envolvimento no trabalho.
