Although most litigation and law-related activities are sobering and worrisome, there are moments that are moving, funny, and sometimes absolutely unbelievable. Often people say things while under pressure or without thinking about how it sounds, and the result is usually humorous, embarrassing, or absolutely hilarious. At other times, the behavior of people facing the legal system is unexplainable, unacceptable, and sometimes just downright stupid. Such behavior only proves that people are unpredictable; and it's true that You Just Can't Make This Stuff Up! About the Author Gerrie Bishop was a legal secretary for twelve years. She started college at age 39. Upon earning a law degree, she became a trial court staff attorney for 18 years and has been a General Magistrate in the Florida court system for ten years. Primarily involved with child dependency and family law cases, she is also involved in pending civil and probate litigation. Bishop began collecting anecdotes and stories about the law and the courts several years ago and felt that they were just too funny to keep to herself, so she's sharing some of these stories with the hope that it gives the readers some chuckles and lightens their day.
