Celem niniejszego badania było zbadanie tendencji w poszczególnych obszarach rozwoju w określonej grupie dzieci z zespołem Downa, które objęto wczesną interwencją w ramach zintegrowanego programu interwencyjnego. W badaniu przeanalizowano wyniki w czterech różnych obszarach rozwoju: komunikacji, socjalizacji, umiejętności życia codziennego oraz motoryki, a także w 11 podobszarach: języku receptywnym, języku ekspresyjnym, języku pisanym, umiejętnościach osobistych, domowych i społecznych, relacjach międzyludzkich, zabawie i czasie wolnym, umiejętnościach radzenia sobie, motoryce dużej i motoryce małej. Zmienne niezależne to płeć, wiek, szkoła i czas, a zmienne zależne to wyniki testów rozwojowych. W niniejszym badaniu znormalizowane wyniki oceny rozwoju przyczyniły się do zrozumienia, w jaki sposób małe dzieci z zespołem Downa porównują się pod względem rozwoju między sobą w oparciu o wiek i płeć w czasie oraz w jaki sposób porównują się pod względem rozwoju z populacją badaną w badaniu krajowym.
