Die Stadt São Paulo ist das Zentrum der größten städtischen Agglomeration Lateinamerikas und der Karibik, sowohl hinsichtlich der bebauten als auch der bewohnten Fläche. Dieses Buch entfaltet das Panorama des Universums der Wärmeinseln in São Paulo, basierend auf einem innerstädtischen geografischen Ansatz der physikalischen Aspekte, die die Beziehungen des Energieaustauschs an der Schnittstelle zwischen Oberfläche und Atmosphäre ausmachen. Vor diesem Hintergrund haben wir eine Literaturrecherche durchgeführt und eine große Anzahl von Wärmebildern aus Landsat-5-Satellitenbildern sowie Vegetationsindex-, Landnutzungs- und Landbedeckungsdaten und ausgefeilte meteorologische Parameter verwendet, die mit dem Surface Energy Balance Algorithm For Land Model generiert wurden. Alle Daten wurden in einem geografischen Informationssystem bearbeitet und ausgewertet.
