Questo libro illustra il panorama dell’universo dell’isola di calore a San Paolo, basandosi su un approccio geografico intraurbano degli aspetti fisici che costituiscono le relazioni di scambio energetico all’interfaccia superficie-atmosfera. Con questo obiettivo, abbiamo condotto una revisione della letteratura e utilizzato un gran numero di immagini termiche generate dalle immagini satellitari Landsat 5, nonché dati sull’indice di vegetazione, sull’uso del suolo e sulla copertura del suolo e sofisticati parametri meteorologici generati con l’algoritmo Surface Energy Balance Algorithm For Land Model, il tutto modificato ed elaborato su un sistema informativo geografico.
