In der vorliegenden Arbeit wurden salztolerante Varianten in Artemisia annua isoliert und charakterisiert. Diese Mutanten ermöglichten eine erste Analyse des Signalsystems für die Reaktion auf NaCl-Stress durch die Identifizierung neuer Phänotypen. Die Isolierung und Charakterisierung dieser salztoleranten Varianten hinsichtlich ihres morphologischen, biochemischen und sekundären Metabolitenprofils bildet die Grundlage dieser Arbeit. Die für das vorliegende Forschungsprojekt gewählten Ziele waren: (1) Isolierung induzierter salztoleranter Varianten, (2) morphologische und biochemische Charakterisierung isolierter salztoleranter Varianten in verschiedenen Entwicklungsstadien, (3) Vergleich ausgewählter Mutanten mit dem Wildtyp hinsichtlich der Produktion sekundärer Metaboliten und der Feldleistung in Bezug auf ertragsbezogene Merkmale und (4) Definition der betroffenen Gene unter Verwendung von Mutanten und Bestimmung der Vererbung der so definierten Gene.
