Este livro analisa a dinâmica dos ventos no semiárido brasileiro, com foco no município de Mossoró (RN), destacando sua importância para o planejamento ambiental e o desenvolvimento sustentável. A obra apresenta fundamentos teóricos sobre climatologia, circulação atmosférica e interação entre vento e superfície, abordando também temas como energia eólica, impactos ambientais e desertificação. A partir de dados meteorológicos do INMET entre 2008 e 2019, o estudo caracteriza a direção predominante e a velocidade média dos ventos, utilizando ferramentas como rosas dos ventos e análises estatísticas. Os resultados evidenciam a predominância de ventos regulares, reforçando o potencial eólico da região. O trabalho contribui para a tomada de decisões em áreas como agricultura, urbanismo e geração de energia, além de subsidiar estratégias de manejo sustentável no semiárido.
