Cette étude donne un aperçu des recherches théoriques, conceptuelles et empiriques liées au concept d’(im)politesse. Tout d’abord, les vagues de recherche sur l’(im)politesse sont présentées. Ensuite, un examen critique des approches traditionnelles est présenté. Troisièmement, les théories de l’impolitesse sont discutées en mettant l’accent sur les limites du modèle de Culpeper. Dans la partie suivante, la relation entre l’impolitesse et la moralité est établie. Enfin, les concepts de moralité, d’ordre moral et de théorie des fondements moraux (TFM) sont expliqués en détail.
