Il bacino idrografico del fiume Flores è un sottobacino del fiume Mearim, uno dei più grandi fiumi del Maranhão. È necessario diffondere maggiormente le conoscenze relative all’interno dello Stato, rafforzando la conservazione degli ambienti più fragili e unendo queste conoscenze al movimento popolare a favore di una società più sostenibile. La ragione per cui l’uomo deve prendersi cura del proprio ambiente risiede nella ricerca di risultati positivi nella costruzione di un ambiente sano e rispettoso. Il rispetto per il prossimo e per l’ambiente, unendo sempre più persone in un obiettivo comune di portare la salute ambientale e sociale a un popolo molto bisognoso. Il popolo del Maranhão, forte e appartenente alle tradizioni di vari popoli oppressi, neri e indigeni, bisognoso di politiche pubbliche rivolte alla sua realtà peculiare e fragile.
