Die Mungbohne (Vigna radiata (L.) Wilczek) ist eine der wichtigsten Hülsenfrüchte, die in Indien vor allem als Nahrungsmittel angebaut wird. Im Rahmen der Erhebung wurde ein massives Auftreten des Mungbohnen-Gelbmosaikvirus (MYMV) in Mungbohnen festgestellt, das in den Distrikten Navsari, Surat und Valsad zu schweren Ernteausfällen führte. Die Sorten GM-4 und K-851 waren während der Blütephase im Sommer besonders stark befallen. Angesichts der Schwere des Problems wurde die vorliegende Untersuchung zur Virusübertragung und zum Nachweis des Virus durchgeführt.
