Presso l’Instructional Research Farm di Jabalpur, nel Madhya Pradesh, è stato condotto uno studio completo su dodici varietà di frumento sottoposte a gestione organica dei nutrienti. La ricerca mirava a valutare le prestazioni di queste varietà nelle condizioni agroecologiche uniche dell’altopiano di Kymore e della zona delle colline di Satpura. In particolare, la varietà JW 17 è risultata la più performante nei parametri di crescita, nei caratteri di attribuzione della resa e nella resa complessiva, seguita da vicino da C 306 e JW 3269. Lo studio ha valutato anche i parametri qualitativi, con la C 306 che ha dimostrato di possedere caratteristiche superiori, tra cui il più alto contenuto proteico, il contenuto di glutine secco e il valore di sedimentazione. Questi risultati offrono spunti preziosi per la selezione delle varietà di grano e per l’ottimizzazione della gestione dei nutrienti organici, fornendo una base per la coltivazione sostenibile del grano nelle regioni specificate.
