本書專論當代中國哲學家勞思光先生 (1927-2012) 的哲學思想，尤其著重於勞先生後期哲學的發展與規模。勞思光先生以《中國哲學史》名家，然而《中國哲學史》卻只是他一生哲學關懷──為危機中的哲學及文化尋找突破困局之道──的預備工作。《中國哲學史》之後，也就是1980年代起，勞先生在三十年間逐步發展、修正他的哲學思想，主要是：(1) 建立一種基於開放思維之哲學概念的文化哲學；(2) 為二十世紀「哲學之終結」問題把脈，提出「非絕對主義的新基礎主義」，以顯示哲學思維應有的新取向；與此同時，他也發表了關於 (3) 中國文化之路向，與 (4) 中國哲學之未來的大量論著。本書基於同情的理解，全面討論了前述勞思光哲學的各個領域，並兼顧勞先生前、後期思想的演變。書中〈情意我與心靈境界〉一篇藉詩作探索勞思光先生的生命情調，頗見異趣。張善穎，目前任教於國立臺北護理健康大學通識教育中心，主要學術興趣在中國古代哲學、佛學、文化哲學與道德哲學。出版：學術著作《孔子心目中的天命》；詩集《描金的影子》、《Paris, Paris》；散文《女人是天生的收藏家》、《十二個孩子的人生哲學》；譯作葛拉斯詩畫集《給不讀詩的人》。曾獲第十八屆時報文學獎新詩首獎、第十屆臺北文學年金。 3
