Unbelieving believers are simply nonexercisers of faith. There will be absolutely no need for me as an individual to pay close attention or even listen to something or anything that I do not believe in. It is something that catches my imagination and attention that I believe in. In the body of Christ, we are called believers because of what we believe, that God is God and he is who he says that he is and he will do whatever he has promised to do. Full stop!

The Gospel of John was long assumed to be the work of an eyewitness, usually identified as John, son of Zebedee. More recently, many have judged it the unhistorical product of a ''Johannine community.'' Reconsideration by Richard Bauckham has suggested that the author was a Jerusalem disciple who housed the ''Last Supper.'' This book explores the possibility that he was present...

  • Through the years with prince charming
    Paul du Quenoy
The past decade has overflowed in a raging stream of contradictions. Old certainties have yielded to relentless insecurity over a time when much of the human experience got immeasurably better even as many things only ever seemed to get worse. As Paul du Quenoy’s globetrotting criticism reveals, the arts were in a ferment that matched profound and yet totally unpredicted social...
  • Tommaso Traetta and the Fusion of Italian and French Opera in Parma
    George W. Loomis
In 1759, the court of the Italian Duchy of Parma adopted the inspiration of cultural creators who recommended a reform of Italian opera along French lines. These writers favored combining Italian-style music with the wider range of musical genres and scenic variety of French opera. As the music critic and commentator George W. Loomis shows in this groundbreaking volume, the you...

    Robert Calder
William Somerset Maugham (1874-1965) was one of the most prominent and productive authors of the twentieth century-and his works have been among the most cinematically transformed in history. For more than five decades, adaptations of his plays, stories, and novels dominated movie theaters and, later, television screens. More than ninety individual works were filmed, and for ma...

These are clearly Satan’s servants in collars, robes, full of airs and graces, pompous to the core, and exuding and exhibiting arrogance of an ill nature that wants to make you vomit. They are never what they appear to be and are altogether ill-mannered, with no evidence or proof in their Christlike activities that do not seem to have the inclusion of Christ but that of man alo...

    Colette Adesua Nemedia-Kuponiyi
When tragedy shouts, I command it to shut up. There are things that are continually screaming at us. These things come in the form of circumstances and situations that are always competing for our attention and always want to drown the voice of God from our lives and destinies. They are matters and issues that keep presenting themselves to us by saying, 'Look at me. I am here, ...

  • Unapproachable Jesuses
    Colette Adesua Nemedia-Kuponiyi
Unapproachable Jesuses are simply stuck-up believers, who claim to be but are far too high-minded and think that life and living must be about them alone. Calling and claiming they are believers would be considered a joke since they look nothing like Christ or even try to emulate him in terms of humility. They always and only think highly and sometimes too highly of themselves....

    Colette Adesua Nemedia-Kuponiyi
This is not a book to give readers the formula for worship. Worship is personal and is a thing of the heart. It must be done in all sincerity and in all truth. For God knows falsehood as well as honesty. This book is just to share my experiences and findings as I seek the Lord in my walk with him as well as my discoveries of how the Holy Spirit can actually lead you into an app...
