L’étude évalue la faisabilité du traitement du lixiviat synthétique par adsorption sur la bentonite, un matériau naturel aux propriétés adsorbantes remarquables. L’objectif principal est de réduire la charge polluante du lixiviat, en particulier la demande chimique en oxygène (DCO) et certains ions inorganiques (NH₄⁺, NO₃⁻, NO₂⁻ et PO₄³⁻), afin de faciliter une éventuelle combinaison avec un procédé d’oxydation photochimique. Les expériences ont été menées en mode discontinu, en faisant varier plusieurs paramètres, notamment la dose de bentonite, le temps de contact, la concentration initiale et la température. Les résultats montrent que l’efficacité d’adsorption augmente avec le temps et la température, atteignant des réductions maximales de 63% pour la DCO et des taux variables pour les autres polluants après 24 heures d’agitation à 35 °C. Deux stratégies de traitement peuvent être envisagées: un temps de réaction prolongé à température ambiante ou une adsorption accélérée à température plus élevée. L’étude met en évidence le potentiel de la bentonite comme adsorbant pour le prétraitement du lixiviat, offrant une réduction significative des polluants organiques et inorganiques.
