Die Studie bewertet die Machbarkeit der Behandlung von synthetischem Sickerwasser durch Adsorption an Bentonit, einem natürlichen Material mit bemerkenswerten Adsorptionseigenschaften. Das Hauptziel besteht darin, die Schadstoffbelastung des Eluats, insbesondere den chemischen Sauerstoffbedarf (CSB) und einige anorganische Ionen (NH₄⁺, NO₃-, NO₂- und PO₄³-) zu reduzieren, um eine mögliche Kombination mit einem photochemischen Oxidationsverfahren zu erleichtern. Die Experimente wurden im diskontinuierlichen Modus durchgeführt, wobei mehrere Parameter variiert wurden, darunter die Bentonitdosis, die Kontaktzeit, die Anfangskonzentration und die Temperatur. Die Ergebnisse zeigen, dass die Adsorptionswirkung mit der Zeit und der Temperatur zunimmt und nach 24-stündigem Rühren bei 35 °C maximale Reduktionen von 63 % für CSB und unterschiedliche Raten für andere Schadstoffe erreicht. Zwei Behandlungsstrategien können in Betracht gezogen werden: eine verlängerte Reaktionszeit bei Raumtemperatur oder eine beschleunigte Adsorption bei höheren Temperaturen. Die Studie unterstreicht das Potenzial von Bentonit als Adsorptionsmittel für die Vorbehandlung von Eluat und bietet eine deutliche Reduzierung organischer und anorganischer Schadstoffe.
