Nach einer einheitlichen Darstellung der klassischen Strukturmodelle der Festkörpermechanik behandelt das Buch Energieaussagen als Grundlage moderner Diskretisierungsverfahren. Anschließend werden Modelle zur Tragwerksanalyse aufgebaut, bevor Konstruktion und Leistung finiter Weggrößenelemente beschrieben werden. Den Abschluß bildet ein Kapitel mit Standard-Analysetechniken. Vier Anhänge runden dieses für Studenten und konstruierende Ingenieure gleichermaßen bedeutsame Buch ab.
