During my research I found that there were certain questions that I was unable to find answers to in existing studies. Thus I decided to focus on them in my own research and observations. Is it possible to evaluate the advantages and disadvantages of traditional methods and the Communicative Approach in terms of success? During the teaching process is a single method used consequently and exclusively or a mixture of methods? How can methods and approaches be ranked as regards the active participation of students in the learning process? My book includes an overview and a presentation of ideas from the differing methodologies, a description of research tools used in those methodologies, my processes of data collection and its systematic analysis and evaluation. Also included are my own observations, interviews done with teachers and questionnaires given to students. Based on the above, I discussed how these methods and approaches were actually used during the lessons I observed and evaluated.
