Foram estudados os efeitos dos produtos Bacillus thuringiensis, Bafog-1 (S) e Ecobac-1 (EC), no gorgulho polinizador da palmeira-dendém (Elaeidobius kamerunicus), insetos benéficos (parasitóides e predadores), peixes de água doce (Tilapia nilotica), ratos (Sprague Dawley) e coelhos albinos jovens da Nova Zelândia. O estudo laboratorial mostrou que o Bafog-1 (S) e o Ecobac-1 (EC) eram seguros para os gorgulhos polinizadores da palmeira-dendém (E. kamerunicus), insetos benéficos (Dolichogenidea metesae, Goryphus bunoh e Brachymeria carinata), peixes de água doce (T. nilotica), ratos (Sprague Dawley) e coelhos albinos jovens da Nova Zelândia, excluindo o resultado do teste de irritação ocular para o Ecobac-1 (EC).
