About 10 years ago I wrote a book called Shame’s Anatomy that focused on the breakup of the African American family. The book emphasized the effects of sin, chiefly, fornication on the black family. It also showed the correlation between fatherlessness and poverty and crime. The first book drew attention to 2 main characters: The Queen and the Thug. They are known by 2 specific names, Semiramis (Jezebel) and Nimrod. The former is the prototype of the immoral queen mother who raises the bad boy or hoodlum. The latter is your stereotypical, neighborhood thug. The two are inseparable. Where ever you find high concentrations of crime you will find an overwhelming number of single parents or fatherless children. The Assignment focuses on the prophecy found in Malachi chapter 4. There, the Lord promises to send Elijah the prophet to turn the hearts of the fathers to the children, and the hearts of the children to their fathers, lest He come and smite the Earth with a curse. It has been 10 years since the publication of Shame’s Anatomy, and things have gotten dramatically worse. Statistically speaking, black people represent roughly 13 percent of the American population. Yet, black people are responsible for more than 55% of homicides. Also, the black illegitimacy rate was about 24% in 1964. Today it is higher than 75% in most cities. The best way to describe Black America is Ichabod generation - the glory of the Lord has departed from us.1 Samuel 4 KJV If the glory is to return it will be according to God’s Promises. The Mantle of Honor is for those who believe and participate in the restoration. This is the Assignment of the last generation. Sin has caused us to lose our glory and our honor and our women have lost their beauty. There is only one solution to what ails us: 2 Chronicles 7:14 KJV If my people who are called by my name shall humble themselves and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their Wicked Ways; then will I hear from heaven, and forgive their sin and heal their land.
