The name Ramayana is a tatpurusha compound of Rama and Aayana, translating to 'Rama’s Journey'. The Ramayana consists of 24,000 verses in seven books and 500 cantos, and tells the story of Rama, whose wife Sita is abducted by the king of Sri Lanka, Ravan. This book is a translation into English to spread the message of the Ramayan to present generation. This book has first four parts of the Ramayan.
