The Other Side of the Doorbell is a compilation of stories from the very first Writing Contest, at The Purple Pen. Our Writing Contests feature the completion of a story, the opening line of which is provided. We are always delighted at the surprises and diversity we receive, as writers share with us their visions of the ending, so we thought readers might be interested in them, as well, and are sharing some of our favorite stories from the very first contest we sponsored. The Other Side of the Doorbell,' showcases some of our favorite entries, all of which open with the line: Sara had no plans for New Year’s Eve; she was surprised to hear the doorbell, just before midnight. We hope that you enjoy finding out what some of our authors imagined to be on 'the other side of the doorbell,' in these wonderfully different stories. We wish to thank our very creative authors for making this book possible. Their persistence, patience, and good writing provided us with a great deal of delightful reading. Though we could only select a few actual 'winners,' we believe that all our authors are 'winners,' in spirit and in perseverance, and we wish them all well. Artist Christy Boyer has provided the beautiful doorbell for our cover. A freelance graphic designer, Christy’s work can be viewed at: www.Portfolios.comThe Purple Pen. We support quality writing. http://www.PurplePenEditing.com
