The Normans V1: Or Kith And Kin is a historical novel written by Anna Harriet Drury and published in 1870. The book is set in the 11th century, during the time of the Norman Conquest of England. It tells the story of a young Norman nobleman named Raoul de Harcourt, who is sent to England by William the Conqueror to help establish Norman rule. Along the way, Raoul falls in love with a Saxon woman named Edith, who is torn between her loyalty to her people and her growing feelings for Raoul. The novel explores themes of love, loyalty, and the clash of cultures between the Normans and the Saxons.
