The Meno of Plato is a philosophical dialogue between Socrates and Meno, a wealthy young man who is seeking knowledge about the nature of virtue. The dialogue explores the concept of knowledge and whether it can be taught, as well as the nature of virtue and how it can be attained. Socrates uses his famous method of questioning to lead Meno to a better understanding of these concepts, and the dialogue ends with a discussion of the immortality of the soul. This edition of the Meno, translated by Benjamin Jowett, was originally published in 1901 and remains a classic work of philosophy. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations. Because we believe this work is culturally important, we have made it available as part of our commitment for protecting, preserving, and promoting the world’s literature in affordable, high quality, modern editions, that are true to their original work.
