This book contains two related writings on the Tagores. The first writing is a translation of Sarala Devis (Rabindranath Tagores niece) memoirs from the Bengali, Jeevaner Jharapata. It is the first autobiography written by a nationalist woman leader of India. The second writing is a photo essay, visually reflecting the social and cultural trends of the times, through styles of dress, jewellery and accoutrements.
