The Mahajanaka Jataka is a book that tells the story of one of the previous lives of Gotama Buddha, also known as Siddhartha Gautama. This book was written in 1888 by Ko, Taw Sein. The story follows the life of Prince Mahajanaka, who was born into a royal family but was forced to flee his kingdom due to a prophecy that he would bring about the downfall of the kingdom. He embarks on a journey across the ocean and faces many challenges and adventures along the way. Eventually, he becomes a king in a new land and marries a beautiful queen. However, he is forced to leave his kingdom once again and return to his homeland to fulfill his destiny. The Mahajanaka Jataka is a classic Buddhist text that teaches valuable lessons about the importance of perseverance, compassion, and selflessness. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
