The Loves of Troilus and Criseyde is a narrative poem written by Geoffrey Chaucer in the late 14th century. The poem tells the story of the Trojan prince Troilus and his love for the beautiful Criseyde, daughter of a Trojan priest. The two fall deeply in love, but their relationship is complicated by the ongoing war between the Trojans and the Greeks. As the war rages on, Criseyde is forced to leave Troy and join the Greeks, breaking Troilus’s heart. The poem explores themes of love, betrayal, and the human condition, and is considered one of Chaucer’s greatest works. This scarce antiquarian book is a facsimile reprint of the old original and may contain some imperfections such as library marks and notations.
