A young man named Jayu agonizes over whether to abide in his native land, or go on a precarious quest to America. Jayu reasons that in America he will discover newfound freedom. The threat of death, and a sense of foreboding are things that he experiences in his land every day. The oppressive nature of his country, the abuse dealt by soldiers, and the deceitful tactics of the dictator weary Jayu. He witnesses public executions, deep poverty, and the mistreatment of his loved ones. This encourages Jayu to leave his homeland. However, he does not want to depart from his family and that which is familiar to him. Suddenly, tragedy strikes and Jayu willfully ventures to America. Will he arrive safely to America? Will he fulfill his thirst for freedom that he yearns for? Will he find true peace, true happiness, true contentment in this strange land? Jayu’s journey will take you on an emotional roller coaster. You will ascend the emotional heights of Mount Everest and descend to the deepest emotional valley of the sea.
