These seven brave men whose stories are compiled in this anthology are to be commended for baring their souls as they peeled back the layers of their lives in order to share these heart-wrenching testimonies. There is no doubt some of the events in this book will jar you to the core and evoke emotions you may not have known existed within you! When you read about the lives of these men, the roads they have traveled, the challenges they each faced, and the lessons they learned from the various journeys the Lord allowed them to go on, you will want to cry for them, pray the Lord will help them, and definitely cheer them on when they succeed. One man was healthy and active one moment, then, diagnosed with a life-threatening illness the next. Not knowing whether he will live or die, he must face the question looming in his mind, 'If I survive, what will the future hold?' When you can smell your own flesh rotting, and you’re diagnosed with a disease that can kill you, will you refuse to take traditional medication and treatments and trust God with a miracle if your life is on the line? Your heart will break for the father who cries out in anguish as he documents the tragedy of losing his only son, a star athlete, beloved by everyone. How can he go on living without the one person he loves more than life itself? When you grow up in a home dictated by tough love, can you survive the unimaginable horrors witnessed as a child and young man? Is it possible for a young man to escape living in a drug and alcohol infested environment to live a normal life? What if you’re accused of a heinous crime you did not commit, and you’re locked up behind bars? Who will believe you when the odds are stacked against you? Although he is determined to make a difference and succeed in life, who will provide the guidance he needs when he never experienced the true love of his father, who was around, but not fully involved in his life. When you are violated as a young boy, how do you overcome the horrible memories of sexual abuse in order to thrive as a young man? What will happen when you’re married? Can you get past the haunting nightmares? What challenges will you face? Although these seven men took diverse roads and faced distinct life-changing challenges, they all came to the same conclusion when they glanced at the images in their own mirrors. They acknowledged a self-awareness that, by the grace of God, 'The King in Me Transformed the Man I See.'
