Tell Me a Story, Please, Mi-mi! is written in poetry form with rhyming questions and answers between Maggie and her grandmother, Mi-mi. Mi-mi recalls the play times of her 1945-55 childhood on a small farm in rural Kentucky. Making mud pies, gathering eggs, and big porch swings are part of Mi-mi’s everyday fun. Baby Boomers will enjoy reading this book to their grandchildren and reminiscing about their own childhood. Mi-mi’s stories will motivate children to ask questions and help bridge generation gaps. A description of sibling relationships offers opportunities for children to identify and share feelings about their own relationships.

The very title of Edward V. Bonner's first volume of poetry, One Kiss (Ingram, 2015), suggests some ways in which the poems inside balance the universal with the particular. Most of the poems examine the themes of beauty and risk, pleasure and danger, in the context of one of three kinds of relationships: to romantic partners, to the spiritual world, and to the world of nature....
