This book analyses trends in Brazilian and international literature on science education, focusing on the development of teaching materials for chemistry education for the inclusion of visually impaired students. The database used was the Brazilian QUALIS system of CAPES in the areas of Teaching and Education. The analysis involved articles, dissertations, and theses, which were classified according to: Nature of Research, areas of Knowledge within Science Teaching, period of publication, origin of research groups, and characteristics of the teaching material proposed for conveying content and information. The following categories were considered for this analysis: establishment of visual acuity level, support with independent tactile-visual delivery, support with independent audiovisual delivery, support with interdependent tactile-auditory delivery, support with independent tactile-auditory delivery, and the use of Braille and assistive technology resources.
