Le présent ouvrage se rapporte à une contribution à l’étude systématique et écobiologique des Trichoptères dans certains cours d’eaux du Nord-ouest tunisien où 5 points de prélèvement représentatifs ont été considérés. L’identification de matériel biologique a permis de dresser une liste de 14 espèces appartenant à 7 familles et 11 genres. L’étude des paramètres abiotiques souligne que les cours d’eaux étudiés sont généralement peu profonds, moyennement larges et à vitesses hydriques moyennes. La structure et la diversité de la Trichoptérofaune présentent d’importantes variations spatio-temporelles. La fréquence des espèces reflète, tout comme la densité et l’abondance relative, une structure déséquilibrée de ce peuplement en faveur d’une seule famille des Hydropsychidae (H. maroccana et H. artax). De façon plus importante, l’étude de la tolérance des Trichoptères aux facteurs abiotiques de l’eau montre que la température, la salinité et le dioxygène dissous affectent quantitativement et qualitativement la dispersion des Trichoptères. Ainsi les Trichoptères peuvent être utilisés comme des bioindicateurs dans l’évaluation de la qualité biologique des eaux des écosystèmes lotiques.
