Es wurde eine neue Reihe von substituierten Carbazolderivaten synthetisiert. Im ersten Schritt wurde 2-Chlor-9-H-carbazol-3-carbaldehyd über die Vielsmeier-Hack-Reaktion in Gegenwart von DMF und POCl3 gebildet. Das mit Hilfe der Vielsmeier-Reaktion gebildete Zwischenprodukt wird mit einem anderen substituierten Amin weiterbehandelt, um ein neues Carbazolderivat zu erhalten, das mit dem substituierten Amin kondensiert ist. Die Struktur des substituierten Carbazolderivats wurde durch Dünnschichtchromatographie, FT-IR und 1H NMR identifiziert. Mit Hilfe des Maximal-Elektroschock-Modells (MES) wurde die Potenz der synthetisierten Verbindungen auf der Grundlage ihrer Verringerung der Krämpfe in verschiedenen Zeitintervallen bestimmt. Von allen synthetisierten Verbindungen zeigte Verbindung 4e die maximale krampflösende Wirkung. Verbindung 4c und Verbindung 4f zeigten ebenfalls eine bessere antikonvulsive Aktivität.
