Nauczanie dzieł literackich w liceach i gimnazjach w Beninie pozostaje poważnym problemem, tym bardziej, że analiza dzieł wpisanych do programu nauczania nie zawsze jest omawiana z uczniami podczas zajęć. Takie spostrzeżenie poczyniliśmy podczas naszego stażu certyfikacyjnego, gdzie zauważyliśmy, że powszechne praktyki w klasie nie uwzględniają w rzeczywistości analizy utworów poetyckich; oznacza to, że nauczyciele wykazują brak zainteresowania nauczaniem poezji w swoich klasach. Taki stan rzeczy ma jednak oczywisty skutek w postaci niechęci uczniów do poezji. W obliczu tych obserwacji postanowiliśmy zainteresować się studiowaniem dzieł poetyckich w naszych gimnazjach i liceach. Na podstawie utworu „Les rayons et les ombres' Victora Hugo przeanalizowaliśmy trudności związane z studiowaniem tego dzieła, aby zaproponować rozwiązania. Naszym celem jest przedstawienie skromnych przemyśleń na temat metod dydaktycznych, które mogą ułatwić studiowanie dzieł poetyckich, aby umożliwić nauczycielom łatwe podejście do nauczania poezji w naszych liceach i gimnazjach.
