O ensino de obras literárias nos liceus e colégios do Benim continua a ser um problema grave, tanto mais que o estudo das obras incluídas no programa nem sempre é abordado com os alunos em sala de aula. Esta é a constatação feita durante o nosso estágio de certificação profissional, onde pudemos verificar que as práticas correntes em sala de aula não integram realmente o estudo das obras poéticas; isto significa que os professores demonstram desinteresse pelo ensino da poesia nas suas aulas. Ora, esta situação tem como consequência evidente a aversão dos alunos à poesia. Perante tais constatações, decidimos dedicar-nos ao estudo das obras poéticas nas nossas escolas secundárias. A partir da obra Les rayons et les ombres de Victor Hugo, analisámos as dificuldades associadas ao estudo da referida obra para propor soluções. O objetivo que nos propusemos é esboçar algumas reflexões modestas sobre abordagens didáticas capazes de facilitar o estudo das obras poéticas, a fim de permitir que os professores abordem facilmente o ensino da poesia nas nossas escolas secundárias.
